I first met Tom a few years ago when his ministry calling was just taking off. I connected him and Chaplain Troy Morken. Chaplain Troy is in "The Stan" this time. Chaplain Troy emailed me recently after I wrote to tell him I found the book he wanted and had ordered it. I wrote you probably do not remember me to which I received a lovely email reminding me about how I had helped him build the Coffeehouse at Taji by connecting him up with Tom at Holy Joe's Cafe. I am told the Taji Coffeehouse is quite the hang out place with Chaplain Troy's hope every vistor will eventually pass through the Coffeehouse. Pretty amazing "fruit" since I had forgotten that I introduced them. You never know how God will use you.

Our 2008: Christmas Care Package Season. Thanks to everyone for their support. We were able to send out 130 Christmas packages at Thanksgiving. Our shipping cost for packages and Christmas cards, $1500.00.The packages were anything from a DVD, card and candy bar to a 6 foot Christmas tree with the trimmings. Our Christmas stockings,(hand decorated by local Girl Scouts)included a variety of goodies along with a 6 inch Christmas tree for each stocking. Hundreds of volunteer hours went into bagging the candy, hygiene items and snacks.
*Thank you to 81 yr. old Evelyn Milner who wrote 465 Any Soldier cards.
*To all our adorable Girl Scouts who made cards, bagged items, signed cards, donated nuts and fruits, and shopped in the store.(You are a joy and delight!) You are great supporters of our military. You should be proud of your service. We, at OSI certainly are!
